Thiruvananthapuram, April 24 (NationPress) The Leader of Opposition in Kerala, V.D. Satheesan, criticized the newly appointed state BJP President Rajeev Chandrasekhar for his apparent ignorance regarding Kerala and its political landscape.
"Chandrasekhar lacks a proper understanding of both Kerala and its political dynamics. Additionally, his limited proficiency in Malayalam prevents him from grasping the discussions and questions posed by the media, which is clearly reflected in his responses," Satheesan stated.
In response to Chandrasekhar's earlier comments, in which he accused the Congress and CPI-M of supporting the terrorists behind the Pahalgam attack in Kashmir, Satheesan expressed his disapproval. "Why are Robert Vadra, V.D. Satheesan, and M.A. Baby defending the terrorists? I do not understand their motivations. Is their appeasement politics at such a low? They must acknowledge their mistakes and unite against terrorism," Chandrasekhar had said.
Satheesan emphasized that his main request to Chandrasekhar is to refrain from politicizing the recent terrorist incident, as the citizens of India desire unity in the face of such challenges. "This is not the time for political games. The incident was an attack on our nation, but Chandrasekhar did not grasp the essence of what was communicated. He even struggled to comprehend media inquiries, primarily due to his lack of understanding of Malayalam. Therefore, I choose to overlook his comments," he remarked.
Recently, Chandrasekhar has faced difficulties in articulating his responses, which has become a subject of discussion within the already fragmented state BJP unit.
Chandrasekhar's appointment has also disheartened traditional BJP leaders in Kerala, as his only link to the region was his candidacy against three-time Congress MP Shashi Tharoor in the 2024 parliamentary elections in Thiruvananthapuram, where he was unsuccessful.
