Noida, March 12 (NationPress) One criminal suffered injuries while another was apprehended during an encounter in the vicinity of the Sector 58 police station, as reported by the police.
The authorities confiscated illegal firearms, stolen mobile phones, and a theft motorcycle from the suspects involved in the incident that occurred on Monday night.
As per officials, the Sector 58 police unit was performing vehicle inspections near Vishanpura Mandi when two suspicious individuals on a motorcycle tried to evade the police. During their flight, they lost control, causing the motorcycle to skid and topple over.
Realizing they were cornered, the suspects opened fire on the police. In response, one was shot in the leg, while the other attempted to flee but was subsequently apprehended following a thorough search operation.
The injured suspect has been identified as Shakeel, a resident of Trilokpuri, Delhi. The second suspect has been named Farid, who hails from Aligarh but currently resides in Trilokpuri, Delhi.
Shakeel has been transported to the hospital for medical attention. The police seized a .315 bore illegal pistol, one live round, one spent cartridge, five looted mobile devices, and a stolen motorcycle from their possession.
According to police officials, among the recovered mobile phones, one Motorola device was linked to an ongoing investigation at the Sector 58 police station, while the stolen motorcycle was confirmed to be associated with an FIR lodged with Delhi Police.
The police confirmed that both suspects are habitual offenders with involvement in numerous theft and robbery cases, holding criminal records in both Delhi and Noida.
