Patna, Feb 3 (NationPress) A significant road incident involving six vehicles transpired on Monday near Sabhyata Dwar, within the jurisdiction of the Gandhi Maidan police station in Patna.

The collision resulted in turmoil at the site, although bystanders managed to remain unharmed.

Initial findings suggest that the accident was initiated when a battery-operated vehicle abruptly halted to prevent a collision with a biker.

An Innova, traveling at high speed from the rear, crashed into the battery car. Before the four subsequent vehicles could apply brakes, they collided with the divider and one another, causing considerable damage and minor injuries to passengers.

Several injured individuals were taken to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) for treatment, where they were reported to be out of danger.

However, two passengers from one of the vehicles escaped the scene before the authorities' arrival.

"I was positioned near Sabhyata Dwar when I heard a loud crash. Rushing to the location, I observed that six cars had collided, and a couple was injured," an eyewitness described.

Ranjit Kumar, Sub-Inspector of Gandhi Maidan Traffic Police Station, verified the event.

“On the newly constructed Marine Drive in Patna, a vehicle struck the divider while attempting to dodge a motorcyclist. This initiated a chain reaction of multiple vehicles colliding at high speed. The injured are undergoing medical care, and we have confiscated three vehicles for further inquiry,” he stated.

The force of the crash left onlookers in disbelief, and the high-speed nature of the incident raised alarms regarding road safety in the vicinity.

Fortunately, no pedestrians were harmed. The accident also resulted in a brief traffic jam on Marine Drive.

Upon receiving notifications about the collision, police personnel arrived at the site, seized three vehicles, and commenced additional legal proceedings.

Authorities are probing the matter to identify responsibility and avert similar incidents in the future.

“An FIR regarding reckless and negligent driving was filed at the Gandhi Maidan police station, and the investigation is ongoing,” Ranjit Kumar mentioned.
