Patna, April 24 (NationPress) Bihar Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Tejashwi Yadav has condemned the Central government regarding the Pahalgam attack, branding it a "total failure of intelligence agencies" and calling for accountability over what he termed a grave national security breach.

In reference to the terror incident in the fortified area of Pahalgam, Yadav expressed disbelief over how terrorists could infiltrate such a secure location amidst heavy security.

“With 2,000 tourists present, and given the area's inaccessibility to vehicles—requiring either trekking or horseback—how did the terrorists manage to approach? This raises serious questions,” Yadav remarked.

Tejashwi Yadav criticized the administration’s inability to safeguard civilians in a crucial zone, demanding: “Where was the intelligence? Who will be held accountable for this oversight?”

He contended that intelligence and investigative bodies are being exploited for political purposes rather than focusing on national security.

“These agencies are being deployed against opposition figures, but where are they when the nation requires protection?” Tejashwi questioned.

Yadav also drew comparisons to the 2019 Pulwama attack, reiterating concerns regarding security oversights and the absence of transparency.

“Similar questions arose during the Pulwama incident. What has become of that inquiry? How did 200-300 kg of RDX make its way there, leading to the martyrdom of numerous soldiers?” he stated.

He underscored the public’s right to be informed about the measures taken and the outcomes of the Pulwama attack investigation.

Tejashwi joins other opposition figures in demanding clarity and accountability following the Pahalgam incident, even as the ruling party pledges stringent action against those responsible.

Yadav has intensified his criticism of the central government, citing alarming statistics of terrorist incidents in Kashmir since 2014, with the recent Pahalgam attack exemplifying systemic failure.

He asserted that there have been 3,982 terrorist attacks in Kashmir over the past decade, resulting in casualties of 413 civilians and 630 security personnel.

“Who will be accountable for this gross negligence?” he questioned, accusing the administration of failing in intelligence and emergency response.

Sharing a heartbreaking narrative from the sister of Navy Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, a victim of the attack, Tejashwi noted: “He was alive for one and a half hours but received no assistance.”

He highlighted the lack of security forces in an area designated as a high-security zone, owing to its closeness to the border.
