Anil Sharma's Response to Supreme Court's Ruling on Gift Deeds
Mumbai, Jan 8 (NationPress) Director Anil Sharma, whose latest film 'Vanvaas' has received significant acclaim, has shared his thoughts on the Supreme Court's ruling regarding gift deeds.

Mumbai, Jan 8 (NationPress) Director Anil Sharma, whose latest film Vanvaas is enjoying a wave of positive feedback, has expressed his views on the Supreme Court's ruling concerning gift deeds.

The Supreme Court emphasized the necessity of safeguarding senior citizens, indicating that gift deeds executed by parents may be annulled under the Maintenance and Welfare of the Parents and Senior Citizens Act if their offspring fail to support them.

The Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, aims to uphold the dignity and rights of the elderly.

Commenting on this, Director Anil Sharma stated, "I am overwhelmed with gratitude knowing that the Supreme Court has made such an impactful ruling with the Landmark Gift Deed Decision. When I created Vanvaas, I aspired to see societal change, and it coincidentally appears to be occurring at the perfect moment. I am particularly delighted for the elderly who will gain from this ruling. As a filmmaker, it is genuinely a dream to witness the issues you aim to portray on-screen yielding such prompt and significant outcomes."

Vanvaas depicts a heartfelt narrative of the challenges faced by the elderly in India, including neglect, dementia, and other age-related issues.

This recent ruling highlights how Indian cinema not only mirrors society but also acts as a catalyst for meaningful change, encouraging both audiences and policymakers to reconsider their duties towards the most vulnerable segments of the community.

Produced by Anil Sharma and Zee Studios, Vanvaas is currently enjoying success in theaters.

Anil Sharma, who made a notable comeback in 2023 with the blockbuster Gadar 2, is renowned for narrating stories in a traditional manner, albeit presented in a contemporary format.

Gadar 2, which featured Sunny Deol and Utkarsh, amassed a staggering Rs 686 crore globally, with a significant portion of its earnings, Rs. 525.7 crore, coming from India. This film revitalized Sunny Deol's career, who is set to appear next in Lahore 1947.

2023 has been a remarkable year for the Deol family, with Dharmendra's film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani becoming a blockbuster, followed by Sunny's Gadar 2 and Bobby Deol's Animal.
