Los Angeles, March 6 (NationPress) Actor Robert Pattinson disclosed that he has become “too sensitive” and is unable to enjoy horror films anymore.

In a video interview with his “Mickey 17” director Bong Joon Ho for GQ, Pattinson shared that he was obligated to watch a horror film prior to meeting a director for an upcoming project. This experience left him so terrified of a potential home invasion that he ended up sleeping with knives, as reported by variety.com.

“When I was younger, I used to indulge in a lot of dark content and think, ‘this is cool’. Now, I find myself too sensitive,” Pattinson remarked.

“It’s curious, one would assume that as you age, your fear of such films would diminish. However, I can’t handle horror films anymore.”

Bong Joon Ho suggested that Pattinson’s newfound aversion to horror might stem from his recent experience of becoming a father.

Pattinson welcomed his first child with actress Suki Waterhouse in March 2024. Nonetheless, he clarified to his director that his horror movie anxieties had arisen even before that.

“I was genuinely scared,” Pattinson admitted.

“I had a meeting with a director who had made a horror film. After watching it, I kept imagining that someone was breaking into my house. I found myself on the sofa with two kitchen knives, prepared for an intruder. Eventually, I dozed off with them resting against my neck on the couch. It was probably just a squirrel.”

Pattinson refrained from naming the horror film or its director, although it is possible that it was Parker Finn’s “Smile”, as he and the filmmaker are currently collaborating on a remake of Andrzej Zulawski’s classic horror film “Possession”.

Finn is directing the remake, while Pattinson is producing it through his Icki Eneo Arlo production company. It remains unconfirmed whether Pattinson will also take on a role in the remake. The film has the backing of Paramount.
