Los Angeles, March 17 (NationPress) Renowned filmmaker Tim Burton, celebrated for his works like 'Beetlejuice', 'Edward Scissorhands', and 'Batman', has expressed his deep connection to dogs.

His ex-partner, Helena Bonham Carter, with whom he shares children Billy, 21, and Nell, 17, noted that this bond is evident in his unique visual storytelling approach, according to reports from Female First UK.

In a new four-part untitled documentary series by Tara Wood focusing on the 66-year-old director, she shared, "He adores dogs. Pepper was his childhood pet. He has always felt comfortable around dogs. He mentioned early in our relationship that he was akin to a dog, perhaps indicating his roots in 'dog land.'"

As reported by Female First UK, she elaborated on his distinctive communication style. The 58-year-old actress, who was in a relationship with Tim from 2001 to 2014, remarked, "(He is) purely visual. He communicates without words, which is why he connects so well with dogs."

The story was initially shared by People magazine.

Throughout the series, various collaborators of Tim discussed the recurring presence of dogs in his creative works. Film editor Chris Lebenzon recounted the special bond Tim had with his late dog, which he had with former partner Lisa Marie.

Chris recounted, "Poppy (the dog) was found by him and Lisa Marie on the streets of Tokyo. How do you bring a dog back from Tokyo? Perhaps in someone's handbag — I'm not quite sure. Poppy was always by his side." In 2012, Tim revealed that his animated feature 'Frankenweenie', which was adapted from his 1984 short film, was inspired by his childhood dog.

He told UK Screen, "This film is rooted in a memory from my childhood and my bond with a dog I had."

"The beauty of expanding 'Frankenweenie' is that it allowed me to reflect on other personal experiences, like childhood friends, teachers, and the environment I grew up in, embedding numerous memories into the story," he added.
