Jeddah, Jan 29 (NationPress) The External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar expressed his condolences regarding the heartbreaking loss of nine Indian citizens in a road incident in Saudi Arabia, pledging complete support to the affected families.
"I am saddened to hear about this incident and the loss of lives. I spoke with our Consul General in Jeddah, who is actively communicating with the families involved. He is providing the utmost support during this difficult time," EAM Jaishankar shared on X.
Previously, the Consulate General of India in Jeddah, which also oversees the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Yanbu, Taif, Tabuk, Qunfudah, AlBaha, Abha, Jizan, and Najran, reported that the accident occurred near Jizan, in the western part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
"We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families impacted. The Consulate General of India in Jeddah is offering complete assistance and is in contact with authorities and families. We also wish for a swift recovery for the injured. A dedicated helpline has been established for any inquiries," they indicated in a social media update, providing four helpline numbers specifically for assisting the affected families.
