The initiative, conducted at Government High School, Sunail, aimed to foster digital education in rural communities and equip young girls with vital computer skills to achieve technological self-reliance.
Participants shared their experiences, expressing gratitude for the opportunity.
Suhani Devi, one of the trainees, conveyed to IANS, “Through the Indian Army's 'Operation Sadbhavna', we received a 45-day training program at our school. We learned numerous new things about computers, such as MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint. All this was achievable thanks to our teachers and the Indian Army. I am deeply appreciative for the free training provided.”
“Coming from a disadvantaged background, I never had the opportunity to access computers. However, after completing this training, we received a certificate. This training will significantly benefit us in our future endeavors,” she added.
Another student, Sunita Bhagat, remarked to IANS, “This computer training has imparted a wealth of knowledge. Knowing how to operate a computer is crucial. With computers, we can efficiently accomplish tasks that would otherwise take much longer.”
“We are immensely grateful to the Indian Army and our teachers for making this possible. It will greatly assist us in our future careers,” she added.
The school's headmaster, Satpal, also acknowledged the Army's contributions.
In an interview with IANS, he stated, “As computers have become integral to daily life, I am incredibly thankful to the Indian Army for organizing this training program for underprivileged girls. The students were instructed on basic computer operations, handling various components, and software applications.”
He further emphasized the Army's additional support, mentioning, “The Indian Army has also helped us with infrastructure by providing desks, almirahs, whiteboards, and other necessary materials. I hope they will continue such initiatives for our students in the future.”
Upon completing the training, all participants were awarded certificates under the National Computer Literacy Programme. This initiative represents a considerable step towards rendering young girls self-reliant and better prepared for future career opportunities.
This endeavor by the Indian Army meaningfully contributes to the vision of 'Digital India' and strives to broaden educational opportunities in border regions, ensuring a brighter future for rural youth.
