New Delhi, March 15 (NationPress) BJP IT Cell chief, Amit Malviya, has criticized the Mamata Banerjee-led government of West Bengal for allegedly promoting a culture of communal violence, specifically in Birbhum, following a disturbing incident where Hindus were reportedly assaulted while celebrating Holi.

Malviya expressed his concerns on the social media platform X, stating, "Hindus were attacked in Birbhum for celebrating Holi! Under Mamata Banerjee’s governance, West Bengal is increasingly resembling Bangladesh."

The incident occurred during the vibrant celebrations of Purnima and Holi in Anaipur village, which falls under the Kirnahar police station in the Nanur Assembly constituency.

According to Malviya, a local member of the Trinamool Panchayat led a violent assault against Hindus who were celebrating and chanting "Jai Shri Ram."

He shared a video from the event where the attackers could be heard challenging, "How dare you raise this slogan?"

Despite the presence of police, Malviya alleged that the situation worsened as law enforcement reportedly sided with the attackers instead of intervening to stop the violence.

"Videos from the incident show Hindus asserting they were assaulted while police remained inactive," he noted.

Malviya also highlighted concerns regarding the alleged misuse of Internet restrictions within the state. He referenced the landmark Supreme Court ruling in the case of Anuradha Bhasin vs. Union of India, which deemed indefinite Internet shutdowns illegal. He questioned, “Can Home Minister Mamata Banerjee clarify what urgent situation justified the suspension of Internet services during ongoing examinations?” He further asked, “Who is truly engaging in unlawful activities?”

Malviya condemned Mamata Banerjee's tactics, asserting, “We will not permit Mamata Banerjee to dismantle the social fabric of West Bengal for her communal vote bank politics. She must GO!”
