Varanasi, Feb 23 (NationPress) External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar stated that India is striving to regain its position as a global technology hub, emphasizing that space and AI are pivotal sectors where India can excel through government initiatives aimed at nurturing talent.

During an interaction with delegates and foreign diplomats at the Kashi Tamil Sangamamam 3.0, EAM Jaishankar pointed out the New Education Policy as a significant step towards equipping individuals for the emerging challenges.

“One area where we can demonstrate our capabilities is in space and drones. A significant portion of our space industry is powered by youthful innovators... consider AI; the Prime Minister recently returned from the AI Summit in Paris,” he remarked, highlighting that numerous universities have established drone programs.

He emphasized, “If we commit to this endeavor, India will continue to prosper. By focusing on enhancing our people's skills, we can harness their rich history and tradition to achieve success.”

The Minister noted that Indian knowledge can significantly influence technological advancements, suggesting that our traditions can foster innovation.

Referencing the benefits of Yoga and traditional medicines, he asserted that it is our responsibility to rediscover and promote our traditions.

Addressing the Ambassadors present, the Minister described Kashi as one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities, a cultural hub that resonates with people across India, particularly the Tamils.

The theme of the gathering celebrated the achievements of Saint Agastya, a revered figure credited with developing the Tamil language and establishing the Siddhi school of medicine, alongside contributions to martial arts.

For the Ambassadors, understanding such cultural milestones is crucial, he remarked.

“This exemplifies our nation. There exists a profound belief, culture, history, and tradition that binds us together,” he added, noting that the event aimed to offer the Ambassadors a glimpse into this interconnectedness.

Earlier, on Saturday, the EAM participated in the Delhi University Literature Festival, raising concerns about reports of USAID funds allegedly being utilized to sway elections in India.

He affirmed that the public deserves transparency regarding individuals associated with these “bad faith activities”.

The EAM indicated that available information points to actions aimed at promoting a specific narrative or perspective.
