Mumbai, April 24 (NationPress) Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced on Thursday that a special flight has been organized to return the citizens of Maharashtra who have been stranded in Kashmir.

This Air India flight is scheduled to land in Mumbai today with 100 tourists onboard.

The Chief Minister's office posted on X, sharing the list of passengers set to return on the special flight today.

"Following Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis' directives, two special flights are slated to reach Mumbai today. An IndiGo flight will bring back 83 tourists, while the Air India flight will carry 100, totaling 183 tourists returning to Mumbai today. Both flights are expected to arrive in the evening. Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Muralidhar Mohol is providing comprehensive support for this mission. The state government will cover the expenses for these special flights," the statement read.

Previously, the first special flight carrying 65 stranded tourists from Maharashtra landed in Mumbai at 3:30 a.m. today. The tourists were welcomed by leaders from Shiv Sena, including party secretary Sanjay More, legislators Mangesh Kudalkar and Murji Patel, and Yuva Sena general secretary Rahool Kanal. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is currently in Srinagar overseeing the return of stranded tourists.

The office of Deputy Chief Minister Shinde stated, "The arrival of 65 stranded tourists from Maharashtra in the early morning is part of a coordinated evacuation effort led by DCM Shinde to ensure the safe and dignified return of all citizens."

"Two additional special flights carrying more tourists will land in Mumbai throughout the day. The specific timings for these flights will be announced soon. Our focus remains on the safety, comfort, and swift return of everyone affected. Shiv Sena reaffirms its dedication to support every Marathi Manoos during times of crisis," the statement continued.

He expressed, "I met numerous stranded tourists—exhausted, anxious, yet resilient. It was uplifting to witness their spirits improve upon learning that their government is present with them on the ground. I stand here not just as Deputy Chief Minister but as a fellow Maharashtrian, committed to supporting them and coordinating their safe return home. I'm also proud of the exceptional efforts by Dr. Shrikant Shinde and the team during these critical hours, managing logistics, offering emotional support, and ensuring that each individual felt valued. We will reunite everyone with care, dignity, and the full backing of our government."
