According to his affidavit for the 2022 Gujarat elections, his reported assets were around Rs 77.76 lakh, with liabilities totaling approximately Rs 33.25 lakh. He had no criminal allegations against him.
Solanki had a long-standing political rivalry with the Congress party. He was elected as the BJP MLA from Kadi Assembly for two consecutive terms, representing the Scheduled Caste community in the Mahesana district. His commitment to public service and unpretentious lifestyle earned him the moniker '108'.
He was first elected in 2017 by defeating Chavda Rameshbhai Maganbhai of the Congress by a margin of 7,746 votes.
In the 2022 Gujarat Legislative Assembly elections, he again emerged victorious, defeating Congress candidate Parmar Pravinbhai Ganpatbhai by an impressive margin of 28,194 votes.
Despite his political prominence, Solanki led a modest life. He was known for utilizing government buses for his travels, including his commute to the Assembly, and he avoided many privileges typically afforded to MLAs.
