Gurugram, Feb 4 (NationPress) The Naib Tehsildars and Tehsildars in Gurugram are still on mass leave for the second consecutive day on Tuesday as a protest against allegations of corruption within the Revenue Department and a case registered against a female Tehsildar from Faridabad, who claims to have been falsely implicated.

The Tehsildars contend that the female Tehsildar from Faridabad is being wrongfully implicated.

As a result, various revenue-related tasks, including property registrations, have come to a standstill across all tehsils in the district.

However, insiders indicated that following the mass leave by the revenue officials, Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) proceeded to register deeds.

The Tehsildars believe there is a plot underway to tarnish their image.

They assert that they are being wrongfully accused of corruption without any proper investigation or evidence, which they claim is an attempt to undermine their credibility.

A representative of the Haryana Revenue Officers Association stated that if the government fails to address their grievances, the mass strike will persist.

It is important to note that 47 Tehsildars and 370 Patwaris across the state are currently facing corruption allegations tied to the Revenue Department.

Additionally, the names of 404 Tehsildars and 152 Patwaris have surfaced in a list of individuals accused of corruption within the department.

The Tehsildars argue that despite their names being flagged, the government has yet to take any substantial action.

In solidarity with the Tehsildars' protest, Patwaris have also voiced their dissatisfaction.

"All allegations regarding corruption should be thoroughly investigated. It is unjust to accuse all employees without foundation," stated the Patwaris.

Typically, over 60 percent of property registrations occur in the nine tehsils of Gurugram on regular days, contributing significantly to government revenue.
