Chandigarh, March 17 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Haryana, Nayab Singh Saini, revealed during the Budget announcement for 2025-26 that the government has allocated Rs 5,000 crore for the execution of the ‘Lado Laxmi Yojana’.
The Chief Minister, who also holds the position of Finance Minister, informed the press that the government had committed in its Sankalp Patra during the Assembly elections to provide financial support of Rs 2,100 per month to women under this initiative.
“We have undertaken all essential preparations for its rollout, and we are currently finalizing the framework and criteria for this ambitious program. What we pledged in our Sankalp Patra is backed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's guarantee. Our goal is to ensure that every eligible poor woman benefits from this financial aid,” he stated.
The Chief Minister emphasized the government's commitment to women's empowerment across all sectors. He added, “If necessary, we will consider increasing the funding for this initiative.”
He mentioned that the government is making significant strides towards enhancing women’s empowerment in every sector, with plans to establish Mahila Chaupals in every village, starting with 774 villages in the initial phase.
Moreover, the Kishori Yojana will be launched in all districts with an additional budget of Rs 60 crore.
In response to inquiries about the state's financial status, the Chief Minister clarified that Opposition members often claimed the state was overwhelmed by debt.
He noted, “When we assumed control of the administration in 2014, the debt was considerably high, but by 2024-25, it has been significantly reduced, highlighting our success in managing and decreasing the debt through prudent financial strategies.”
He expressed that this Budget aims to meet the hopes and expectations of 2.8 crore residents of Haryana.
“This Budget signifies our steadfast commitment to the welfare and advancement of every segment of society,” he concluded.
