Jaipur, April 23 (NationPress) US Vice President JD Vance, who is currently undertaking a four-day trip to India from April 21-24 with his family, has decided to cancel his planned visit to the City Palace in Jaipur. The schedule had included a stop at the City Palace on Wednesday, but that plan has been scrapped.
While no formal explanation has been issued, sources indicate that the cancellation was made shortly after his return from Agra, and the recent terrorist incident in Pahalgam may have played a role in this decision.
On Wednesday, Vice President Vance and his family had previously visited the renowned Taj Mahal in Agra, spending around three hours at the iconic site before heading back to Jaipur.
They are currently lodged at the Rambagh Palace Hotel and are set to return to Washington on Thursday morning at 6:30 a.m.
During their stay, the Vance family has embraced Indian culture, wearing traditional attire. Vance’s sons, Vivek and Ivan, were donned in kurta-pyjamas, while his wife, Usha Vance, was seen holding hands with their daughter, Mirabel, as they arrived in Agra. The family was warmly welcomed by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with a bouquet upon their arrival.

On April 22, they explored Amer Fort for over an hour, where Vance showed particular interest in the fort's architectural and historical features, including Diwan-e-Aam, Ganesh Pol, Man Singh Palace, and Sheesh Mahal. Previously, City Palace Museum Director Vaibhav Chauhan announced that the City Palace would be closed to tourists on April 23 in preparation for Vance’s visit.
