Global Leaders, including Macron and Albanese, Condemn Pahalgam Terror Attack

New Delhi, April 23 (NationPress) French President Emmanuel Macron expressed his profound condolences to the victims of the atrocious terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which has resulted in numerous fatalities.

"A wicked terrorist attack has hit India, resulting in the tragic loss of life among individuals from diverse backgrounds. We share the deep sorrow of the families of the victims, to whom I convey my heartfelt condolences," Macron shared on X.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot also took to social media to express steadfast solidarity in the wake of this barbaric attack.

“India has been devastated by a violent terrorist assault. Our thoughts are with the entire nation grieving the loss of numerous victims and their families. In the face of such brutality, our solidarity is unwavering," he stated.

Aussie Prime Minister Anthony Albanese reached out to PM Narendra Modi and strongly denounced the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, offering support to the people of India during this time of mourning.

Albanese also shared on social media, labeling the terror attack as an act of senseless violence that has left the world in shock.

"This afternoon, I spoke with my friend Prime Minister Narendra Modi to express my condolences on behalf of Australia after the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir. The horrific loss of innocent lives is an act of senseless violence that has shocked the globe. Those responsible must face justice. Australia and India are steadfast friends, and we stand with India during this challenging time," Albanese posted on X.

Prime Minister of Mauritius, Navin Ramgoolam, also contacted PM Modi to denounce the cowardly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir while offering his deepest sympathies for the senseless killing of innocent people.

As per the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Ramgoolam conveyed support and solidarity with the people of India during this hour of sorrow, affirming that both nations remain united in the fight against terrorism.

New Zealand's Prime Minister Christopher Luxon expressed his shock over the numerous deaths following the terrorist incident.

"Waking up in London to news of the appalling terrorist attack in Kashmir, I am horrified by the senseless loss of so many lives. The thoughts of New Zealanders are with the people of India at this difficult time," he posted on X.

Condemning terrorism, Singapore's Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan affirmed his support for India during this challenging period.

"Deeply saddened by the terror attacks in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed many lives and injured others. Singapore strongly condemns terrorism. We stand with India during this difficult time," he stated.

The brutal assault, which led to the death of over a dozen tourists and left several others critically injured, occurred on Tuesday in the Baisaran Valley near Pahalgam, where heavily armed terrorists emerged from the dense forests and opened fire indiscriminately on tourists. This attack has been described as one of the most horrific incidents in the region in recent memory.

Initial intelligence reports indicate that the Pakistan-based terror group The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba, has taken responsibility for the attack, although official confirmation is still pending.

Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir are currently on high alert following the gruesome attack on Tuesday. Security measures have been intensified at all vulnerable locations, and additional forces have been deployed throughout the Valley.
