New Delhi, Feb 23 (NationPress) During the 119th episode of his monthly radio program, 'Mann Ki Baat', on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Indian Space Research Organisation for reaching a significant milestone in its space endeavors, marking its 100th rocket launch last month.
He encouraged everyone to experience being a scientist for at least a day by visiting scientific centers.
"The Champions Trophy is currently underway, and there is a vibrant cricket atmosphere all around us. We all understand the excitement of achieving a century in cricket. However, today, I wish to highlight the remarkable century achieved by India in space. Last month, we celebrated ISRO's 100th rocket launch. This achievement symbolizes our unwavering commitment to explore new frontiers in space science. Our journey into space began modestly, facing numerous challenges, yet our scientists persevered and triumphed," PM Modi stated during his address.
"Over time, our achievements in space exploration have multiplied. From constructing launch vehicles to the successes of Chandrayaan, Mangalyaan, and Aditya L-1, coupled with the unparalleled accomplishment of launching 104 satellites in one single mission, ISRO's scope of success is vast. In the last decade, we have launched approximately 460 satellites, including many from foreign nations," the Prime Minister remarked.
"The growing participation of women in the space sector is commendable. It fills me with joy to see that the youth are increasingly drawn to the space arena. For the adventurous youth aspiring for an exhilarating career, the space sector presents a remarkable opportunity," the Prime Minister added.
On the occasion of National Science Day 2025, which will be observed on February 28, PM Modi emphasized the importance of nurturing youth interest in science and proposed the initiative of spending 'One day as a scientist'.
"I encourage you to spend a day as a scientist. Visit research laboratories, planetariums, or space centers. This experience will spark your curiosity in science. Similar to space, India is swiftly establishing its presence in another domain: Artificial Intelligence (AI). At an AI summit in Paris, India's advancements in AI received widespread acclaim," PM Modi highlighted.
He also mentioned a Telangana teacher, Thodasam Kailash, who is leveraging AI technology in digital music to help preserve tribal languages like Kolami. His tracks are highly appreciated by the tribal communities. "The people of India excel in embracing and utilizing new technologies," he concluded.
