Patna, March 15 (NationPress) Following the murder of an ASI in Munger district, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Saturday condemned the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government, asserting a total collapse of law and order in the state.
Ejaz Ahmed, RJD spokesperson, remarked: "The Nitish Kumar administration has utterly relinquished control over law and order. The assault on an ASI in Munger illustrates that Bihar is lawless under this administration. A similar incident occurred previously in Araria, where another ASI lost his life."
Ahmed further stated that police personnel are under significant "risk", labeling the situation as "extremely alarming" and asserting that the government has "lost its credibility".
In the wake of the ASI's murder in Munger, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has voiced grave concerns, categorizing it as both a "law and order issue and a societal concern".
Arvind Kumar Singh, BJP spokesperson, commented: "The Munger incident has left us in shock. A police officer, who was there to safeguard the public, became a victim of violence himself. The police are supposed to ensure public safety, and if they are attacked, it raises serious concerns."
When asked if this situation signifies 'Jungle Raj 2.0', Singh acknowledged the alarming state but claimed that the culprits are "connected" to the RJD, either directly or indirectly.
"If you scrutinize the situation, you will discover that the offenders are directly or indirectly associated with the RJD. They have a history of Jungle Raj and have been accountable for the majority of crimes in Bihar," Singh stated.
On Friday night, a DIAL 112 team received alerts regarding one Ranveer Kumar causing a disturbance in Nandlalpur village while intoxicated.
Consequently, a DIAL 112 team, led by ASI Santosh Kumar Singh, was dispatched to manage the situation.
Upon arrival and attempting to intervene, Ranveer and his relatives assaulted the police team with sharp weapons, resulting in serious skull injuries to Santosh, who later succumbed to his wounds.
Previously, on March 12, an ASI was killed during a violent confrontation in Bihar's Araria district. The deceased was identified as Rajiv Ranjan Mall, an ASI stationed at the Fulkaha police station in Araria.
