New Delhi, April 25 (NationPress) Following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Mohan Bhagwat highlighted the importance of India asserting its strength on the international platform, stating that this is a battle between dharma and adharma.
During an award ceremony in Mumbai on Thursday, Bhagwat addressed the sentiments of the nation post-attack, asserting that while hostility is not inherent to India, neither is inaction in the face of aggression.
"Aggression and animosity are not reflective of our character, but neither is it our nature to be submissive. If we possess power, it ought to be demonstrated… at such junctures, strength should be evident. It conveys to the world that we are a formidable force," Bhagwat articulated, sending a resolute message to both adversaries and the global audience.
He vehemently denounced the terror acts in Kashmir, asserting, “The conflict is not among communities; it is between dharma and adharma. The actions of the terrorists in Kashmir have been universally condemned. Those who lost their lives were targeted based on their faith... The radicals killed individuals after inquiring about their religion; Hindus would never resort to such actions.”
Expressing both sorrow and fury over the incident, Bhagwat remarked, “We are disheartened by this tragedy. We feel anger, and we ought to. For confronting malevolence, we require a force with eight arms.”
Using mythological references, Bhagwat stated, “Some individuals are beyond change. Ravana was a devotee of Lord Shiva, knowledgeable in the Vedas, possessing everything that signifies a virtuous person, yet the mindset he adopted was resistant to transformation. Ravana would not have altered until his demise and rebirth. Hence, Ram eliminated Ravana to instigate change. Malevolent individuals must be eradicated; this is the anticipation. This expectation will be realized...”
Critiquing the notion that peace can be attained without readiness, he mentioned, “We believed there would be no conflict, that an Army was unnecessary… we witnessed the repercussions of that belief in 1962. We must endeavor to fortify our defense and protection.”
In a message rich with symbolism and a call to action, the RSS leader clarified that strength serves not just for defense but also for deterrence. "Some individuals will not alter, even through dialogue. They must be taught a lesson. I hope this can be accomplished promptly."
