New Delhi, April 24 (NationPress) The founder of the Isha Foundation, Jaggi Vasudev, widely recognized as Sadhguru, denounced the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which resulted in the loss of 26 lives, labeling it a heinous act and advocating for a firm response to such malevolent intentions.
In a video statement, Sadhguru emphasized that religiously motivated terrorism represents the most perilous form of violence in existence today.
"You can engage in dialogue with someone fighting for materialistic reasons, but when an individual believes they are battling for their deity, logical reasoning becomes futile," he remarked.
Sadhguru asserted that the aim of terrorism is not warfare; rather, it seeks to instill fear in the populace, fracture societal unity, and hinder a nation's economic progress. He stated that it is imperative to thwart the malicious strategies of anti-national elements.
"When individuals are motivated by wealth, property, or other material concerns, negotiation is feasible since they are focused on life. However, those who perceive their fight as divine are often willing to sacrifice their lives and bring others down with them," he explained.
Pointing out that certain factions do not wish for the country to thrive, Sadhguru noted that after enduring over a millennium of foreign invasions, domination, and severe poverty, the nation stands at the cusp of economic prosperity. Anyone jeopardizing the stability of society and the nation must be addressed decisively.
"Those who are prepared to kill indiscriminately and sacrifice themselves, whose beliefs contradict the principles of the nation-state, should be confronted with a firm hand to safeguard the sovereignty of our country," he asserted.
He continued, "While we often believe that external forces are manipulating events, the reality is that support from abroad is only possible because there are individuals here harboring such intentions as well."
Proposing long-term strategies, Sadhguru called for fostering national integrity and strengthening connections among people from diverse social, ethnic, and religious backgrounds.
"We must ensure a more equitable distribution of education, economic prospects, wealth, and welfare across all segments, ensuring that socioeconomic development reaches all, thereby steering youth away from terrorist paths," he suggested.
"In the next decade, we should unite to undertake the right actions to transform the nation into a glorious Bharat," he concluded.
