Deoria, April 29 (NationPress) Criticizing the Samajwadi Party and Congress, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday expressed concern over the “anti-national” comments made by leaders from these parties following the Pahalgam terror attack.
During the launch of 501 projects totaling Rs 676 crore in Deoria on Akshaya Tritiya, CM Adityanath remarked, “Statements made by Samajwadi Party leaders regarding the Pahalgam attack resemble those of spokespersons from Pakistan.”
He emphasized that the entire nation must unite in condemning terrorism. “We must advance under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a commitment to eradicate terror,” he stated.
Without mentioning any specific SP leader, the CM noted that when asked why he did not attend the funeral of a Kanpur youth who was killed in Pahalgam, the leader replied that the victim was not affiliated with his party.
CM Yogi also criticized a Mumbai-based SP leader for making a contentious statement regarding the Pahalgam attack.
“While the entire nation condemns the terror attack, SP leaders are making unfortunate comments regarding this incident,” he remarked.
The Chief Minister pointed out that a national general secretary of the SP hastily absolved Pakistan of responsibility, claiming that “Hindus have killed Hindus” in Pahalgam, resulting in the deaths of 26 individuals on April 22.
Targeting both Congress and the SP, CM Yogi accused leaders who rise to power through caste politics of indulging in appeasement and promoting nepotism.
Highlighting the achievements of his government since 2017, the Uttar Pradesh CM stated that issues such as lawlessness, hunger, and underdevelopment in Deoria have been effectively addressed by the BJP government.
“In the past, the region faced sickness, lawlessness, and hunger; even organizing religious events was a challenge,” he criticized the previous Samajwadi Party government for allegedly instigating riots.
He also condemned the SP government for closing sugar mills in the area, leading to widespread unemployment and hampering state development.
“Under the BJP, the region has been liberated from mafia control and encephalitis,” the CM declared.
“Now, with PM Modi at the helm, this development momentum will not wane,” he added, pointing to the successful management of Maha Kumbh as an example of effective programs generating employment for the youth.
Promising greater public involvement in the state’s development initiatives, the CM mentioned that prior to 2017, this constituency and neighboring Kushinagar were notorious for encephalitis cases.
“Today, this area is recognized for its development,” he noted, outlining plans to construct highways connecting the region to New Delhi.
