Hyderabad, Feb 6 (NationPress) A significant meeting of the Telangana Congress Legislature Party (CLP) is currently taking place on Thursday to evaluate the party’s readiness for the forthcoming local body and MLC elections.
All ministers, MLAs, and MLCs are participating in this meeting at the Marri Channa Reddy Human Resources Development (MCRHRD) Institute.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is leading the meeting, which will also feature addresses from Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud and AICC in-charge Deepa Dasmunshi.
This CLP meeting holds importance given recent reports that 10 MLAs convened privately amid growing tensions between MLAs and Ministers.
While Congress leadership has dismissed claims of dissent, the CLP gathering is anticipated to discuss strategies for enhancing coordination between MLAs and ministers.
Some MLAs have expressed dissatisfaction concerning ministers’ inadequate responses to their appeals regarding constituents’ challenges and delays in fund allocations to their areas.
The AICC has reportedly acknowledged the MLAs' clandestine meeting and the discontent among some legislators. It is suggested that the convening of the CLP meeting was directed by the party’s central leadership.
Following the CLP gathering, the Chief Minister, alongside the TPCC president and AICC in-charge, will proceed to New Delhi to update the high command on measures taken to resolve legislators' grievances and to reinforce party unity.
Party leaders indicated that the CLP meeting would also address methods to actively promote the Congress government’s achievements, which include the caste census and Scheduled Castes (SC) sub-categorization.
This meeting takes place just two days after the caste census report and the Judicial Commission’s findings regarding SC sub-categorization were presented in the State Legislature during a special session.
It is expected that the Chief Minister, TPCC president, and AICC in-charge will instruct legislators to emphasize these achievements to the public. The party is optimistic that this strategy will significantly enhance its prospects in the upcoming local body elections.
The Congress party is eager to showcase its accomplishments to secure backing from Backward Classes (BCs) and Scheduled Castes (SCs), who together represent nearly 85 percent of the state’s population.
The ruling party is also planning to organize a large public gathering soon to commemorate the government’s major achievements within 14 months of assuming power.
