Rabat (Morocco), Feb 5 (NationPress) The seasoned players Diksha Dagar and Tvesa Malik will be joined by newcomer Avani Prashanth in the opening event of the season, the Lalla Meryem Cup held at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam.

While Diksha and Tvesa have been competing for several years, Avani is making her first appearance in a professional tournament after successfully navigating the LET Q-School.

Pranavi Urs, ranked as the top Indian at 17th in last year’s LET Order of Merit, will kick off her season next week at the Aramco Series in Riyadh. Pranavi will be joining Diksha, Tvesa, and Aditi Ashok.

Diksha holds fond memories of the 2024 Lalla Meryem Cup, where she secured a top 10 finish, and she aims to improve upon that performance. Notably, Pranavi, who finished tied for fifth last year, is opting out of the event this time.

Avani Prashanth, who clinched several professional titles in India on the Women's Pro Golf Tour while still an amateur, also achieved victory on the LET Access Series. She is now geared up for the Ladies European Tour and has plans for a comprehensive schedule.

Avani will be the first Indian to tee off, starting from the tenth alongside Blanca Fernandez from Spain and Aunchisa Utama from Thailand at 8:50 am. Tvesa Malik is scheduled to play with Sanna Nuutinen from Finland and Dorthea Forbrigd from Norway, teeing off at 1 pm. Diksha will be paired with Pia Babnik from Slovenia and local star Ines Laklalech at 1:40 pm.

The reigning champion Bronte Law, 29, returns in hopes of launching her 2025 season with a bang at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam.
