Amman, April 24 (NationPress) Five Indian athletes, comprising three boys and two girls, successfully progressed to the semifinals of the Asian U-15 Boxing Championships following impressive performances on Day 5.
In the Men’s U-15 division, Nelson Khwairakpam (55 kg) achieved an RSC victory in the first round against Wang Sheng-Yang from Chinese Taipei, while Abhijeet (61 kg) and Lakshay Phogat (64 kg) both secured dominant 5-0 wins over competitors from Kyrgyzstan and Jordan, respectively.
On the girls' side, Princi (52 kg) delivered a commanding 5-0 victory against Yeva Kubanova of Ukraine. Samruddhi Satish Shinde (55 kg) completed her bout with an RSC in the third round, defeating Kseniia Savina from Ukraine.
Earlier, Rudraksh Singh Khaidem (46 kg) showcased a flawless performance on Day 4, winning 3-0 against Aidar Musaev from Kyrgyzstan. All six Indian boxers in action progressed to the semifinals, maintaining the team's strong performance in Amman.
