Eindhoven, Feb 5 (NationPress) PSV Eindhoven has acquired defender Tyrell Malacia on loan from Manchester United until the conclusion of the season, with an option to purchase included in the agreement, the Dutch club announced on Wednesday (IST).

Malacia will not be available for the cup match against Feyenoord on Wednesday night but is set to join head coach Peter Bosz's team on Thursday.

'It has been confirmed that Tyrell will connect with Peter Bosz's squad in his home nation for the remainder of this season,' stated Manchester United.

The 25-year-old defender joined the Reds in 2022 and made 39 appearances in an impressive debut season, but a significant injury resulted in an extended absence.

After diligently working to regain his fitness and match readiness, Malacia made his comeback earlier this season, featuring eight times under Ruben Amorim.

"I’m thrilled to be here. I am finally playing well again after a long injury. I’m fit now and confident my time will come again. Every challenging period has its positives. I’ve become much stronger both physically and mentally. I have more patience, maturity, and a better understanding of my body... I’m ready to excel and hopefully secure multiple trophies with PSV," Malacia stated following his contract signing at PSV Campus De Herdgang.

PSV, who play at the Philips Stadion, currently lead the Dutch first division by two points. They are also gearing up for a Champions League play-off against Juventus, after finishing 14th in the new league phase of the competition.

"We are delighted to welcome Tyrell, a player who will bring immediate value to PSV 1. He possesses a wealth of experience at the highest level and has significant potential. We eagerly anticipate seeing him play," commented PSV's director of football affairs, Earnest Stewart.

Notably, the PSV roster includes former Premier League stars Ivan Perisic and veteran striker Luuk de Jong.
