New Delhi, March 17 (NationPress) India’s off-spin all-rounder Washington Sundar has joined forces with Gujarat Titans (GT) as the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) approaches. Previously, Kagiso Rabada, Rashid Khan, and captain Shubman Gill had arrived for pre-season training in Ahmedabad.

Sundar, who was an unutilized member of the Indian squad during their Champions Trophy triumph in Dubai on March 9, took a brief hiatus, including a housewarming celebration with his family in Chennai, before reconnecting with the GT squad on Monday morning.

“Ensuring it's a good Sundar Monday morning for us! Welcome home, Washi!” the franchise announced on their social media platforms. GT marks the fourth franchise for Sundar in the IPL, following his stints with Rising Pune Supergiants, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the previous mega auction, GT acquired Sundar, who holds 37 IPL wickets, for ₹3.2 crore.

Earlier on Monday, South African pacer Rabada linked up with GT, with the franchise stating on social media, “No speedometers are safe after this arrival.”

For Rashid, the franchise posted, “Afghanistan se Amdavad tak, poori public ko pata hai kaun aaya hai! Swaagat hai, Rashid Bhai!” Upon Gill’s arrival at the GT camp just after midnight, accompanied by fireworks, the franchise remarked, “Shub ghadi che aavi!” which translates to “Good time has come.”

GT, the IPL 2022 champions, will kick off their 2025 season with consecutive home matches against Punjab Kings and the five-time champions Mumbai Indians on March 25 and 29, respectively. The team had topped the standings in the IPL 2022 and 2023 seasons but experienced a disappointing eighth-place finish in the 2024 tournament.
