This tri-series is a significant opportunity for India to refine their strategies in preparation for the upcoming 13th edition of the Women’s ODI World Cup, which will be hosted on their home turf later this year. This edition marks the last tournament featuring eight teams, with Australia entering as the defending champions.

India’s last ODI engagement was a three-match series against Ireland at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot, where they achieved a clean sweep with a 3-0 victory in January. In contrast, Sri Lanka is currently on a tour of New Zealand for a three-match ODI series, with the first match being abandoned due to rain.
