Patna, Jan 20 (NationPress) In the midst of controversy surrounding the remarks made by the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, regarding the caste-based survey, RJD Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Kumar Jha stated on Monday that these comments have been misinterpreted and taken out of context.

While speaking to the media in Bihar's Samastipur district, Jha elaborated that Rahul Gandhi expressed concerns over the absence of follow-up actions concerning the findings of the caste survey in Bihar.

He highlighted that policy decisions ought to have been based on the survey results.

“Regrettably, this BJP-JDU government has hindered the process. Rahul's statement did not criticize the survey itself, but rather pointed out the inaction that followed,” he remarked.

Jha further accused detractors of deliberately distorting Rahul Gandhi’s words to sow confusion and distract from the urgent need for authentic policy reforms driven by the caste survey data.

He reaffirmed that both the Congress and RJD are dedicated to addressing the issues of marginalized communities via initiatives such as caste-based surveys that facilitate inclusive policy-making.

On Saturday, Rahul Gandhi sharply criticized the Nitish Kumar-led government regarding the caste-based survey in Bihar, dubbing it a “fake caste survey”.

Speaking at the Samvidhan Suraksha Sammelan at Bapu Sabhagar, he mentioned: “Dalits, minorities, and socially marginalized groups constitute 90 percent of the nation’s population, yet they remain excluded from the system. This is why we have been advocating for a genuine caste census.”

Meanwhile, Jha also addressed ongoing speculations about the power dynamics within the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), particularly concerning Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav.

When questioned about Tejashwi Yadav’s influence and Tej Pratap's self-proclamation as a Chief Minister candidate via social media reels, Jha replied, “Tejashwi Yadav does not need to acquire power; it was granted to him long ago.”

Regarding Tej Pratap Yadav’s reels, Jha commented, “The RJD is a robust party; there is no factionalism within it.”
