Bollywood Stars Not Seen on the Silver Screen in 2024: Aamir to Aishwarya
While 2024 was a thrilling year for Bollywood enthusiasts with major releases like Pushpa 2, Laapataa Ladies, Stree-2, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa-3, certain B-town icons were notably absent from the big screen. As we approach the end of the year, let’s revisit the actors who didn’t grace cinemas this year.

2024 has proven to be an exhilarating year for Bollywood fans thanks to several blockbuster releases such as Pushpa 2, Laapataa Ladies, Stree-2, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa-3. Nevertheless, there were some cinematic treasures from B-town that were sorely missed on the big screen. As we approach the year's conclusion, let's reflect on the actors who did not have any releases this year:

Anushka Sharma

Anushka Sharma has a history of delivering remarkable hits like PK, Band Baaja Baaraat, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. However, it has been over five years since her last film, Zero, which featured Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. Reports indicate that Anushka has been working on the biopic of Indian women cricketer Jhulan Goswami, tentatively titled Chakda Xpress, but the official release date remains undisclosed.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made headlines in 2024 regarding her personal life. While she frequently graces red carpets at various events, her last significant appearance on the big screen was in Ponniyin Selvan 2 in 2023. The actress received accolades for her role in the Tamil drama, heightening fans' anticipation for her upcoming projects.

Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan, known as Mr. Perfectionist, is celebrated for his dedication to each role he undertakes, resulting in a limited number of releases. His last appearance was in Laal Singh Chaddha, yet he remained in the spotlight by supporting the acclaimed Laapataa Ladies. Recently, he announced a sequel to his 2007 hit Taare Zameen Par, titled Sitaare Zameen Par, which also features Genelia Deshmukh. Fans are eagerly awaiting its release.

Salman Khan

The festival of Eid is particularly significant for Salman Khan fans, as the Bollywood superstar traditionally releases a major film to celebrate. However, the 2024 Eid festivities felt incomplete without a Salman Khan production. In 2023, he appeared in Tiger 3 and Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, along with a cameo in Pathaan. Looking ahead to Eid 2025, Salman is poised to delight his fans with Sikandar.

Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan was a powerhouse in 2023, delivering not one but two blockbuster hits, Pathaan and Jawan, while his third film, Dunki, was a moderate success. However, 2024 has been a quieter year for him. The actor is set to share the screen with his daughter Suhana Khan in King, directed by Sujoy Ghosh.

It’s a bit disappointing that none of the three Khans could entertain fans with their dynamic performances in 2024.

Ayushmann Khurrana

Ayushmann Khurrana has carved out a unique space in the industry with his unconventional film choices. His last release, Dream Girl 2, featured him in a female guise, earning critical acclaim. However, he has been relatively low-profile since then.

Recent rumors suggest that the actor is currently engaged in two projects, including the horror-comedy Thama.

Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor surprised audiences with his impressive performance in Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. He also starred alongside Shraddha Kapoor in the romantic comedy Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, both of which performed exceptionally well at the box office. However, Ranbir opted to stay off the big screen in 2024, focusing instead on his upcoming projects, Ramayan Part 1 and Love and War, expected to be released by 2026.

Ranveer Singh

Another beloved star absent from the screens in 2024 was Ranveer Singh. He made a splash in Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, opposite Alia Bhatt, and made a brief appearance in Singham Again. Looking ahead, Ranveer is set to star in Dhurandhar, an espionage thriller by Aditya Dhar, which is likely to hit theaters in 2025.
