Los Angeles, Feb 22 (NationPress) Actor Jason Isaacs, known for his role as Lucius Malfoy, shared his thoughts on why he considered making 'Harry Potter' to be rather tedious.
The 61-year-old performer portrayed the father of Tom Felton's Draco Malfoy in the adaptations of J.K. Rowling's acclaimed book series. Although he feels deeply moved by the legacy today, he admits that he didn’t have much enjoyment while filming, according to femalefirst.co.uk.
During a segment on BBC's 'The One Show', Isaacs remarked: “Despite my involvement in the films, when I take my nephews and nieces to the tour, and we reach the Great Hall, I always find myself in tears. It’s incredibly touching.
“There is some enchantment present in those books and films. It’s a hard truth to admit, but they weren’t particularly enjoyable to create. Making these large-scale special effects movies is rather dull.”
Isaacs appeared in five of the eight films and noted that it is now a joy to witness how the beloved franchise has influenced various generations of fans.
He expressed: “The joy comes later when I meet individuals whose lives have been transformed by it. Many continue to read it and share it with their children. Some even claim it saved their lives, and I believe them. Something magical happened, though the reasons are unclear.
“But when those elements came together, it created a sense of love worldwide, and a feeling of belonging.”
The film series propelled stars like Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson to global stardom as the principal students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and a reboot series is currently in the works.
When asked about participating in the new series, he humorously replied to Deadline: “I’m hoping to return as Hermione. I’ve submitted my audition tape but haven’t heard back yet.”
