Junaid Khan's Theatre Performance to Align with Debut Song from Film 'Loveyapa'
Mumbai, Jan 2 (NationPress) Actor Junaid Khan, the offspring of Bollywood legend Aamir Khan, who made his initial appearance with the streaming film 'Maharaj', is gearing up for a theatre performance on Friday, which coincides with the release of the song from his anticipated movie 'Loveyapa'.

Mumbai, Jan 2 (NationPress) Actor Junaid Khan, the son of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, who made his debut with the streaming film 'Maharaj', is all set to showcase a theatre play this Friday, coinciding with the release of the song from his upcoming film 'Loveyapa'.

Following the announcement of the release date for 'Loveyapa', Junaid will be performing for the first time at Prithvi Theatre. The film 'Loveyapa' also features Khushi Kapoor.

This marks Junaid’s second cinematic endeavor after 'Maharaj', which explored the life of journalist and social reformer Karsandas Mulji, a prominent figure who was Hindu by faith.

Educated at Elphinstone College in Mumbai, Karsandas Mulji, portrayed by Aamir Khan’s son Junaid in the film, was a disciple of the renowned scholar-leader Dadabhai Naoroji. He was part of the Gujarati Gnanprasarak Mandalli (Gujarati Society for the Spread of Knowledge) and shared friendships with notable Gujarati reformists such as poet Narmad and educationalist Mahipatram Neelkanth.

Karsandas Mulji founded the Gujarati language weekly 'Satyaprakash' in 1855, aiming to utilize mass communication for social reform. Six years later, his publication merged with his mentor’s Anglo-Gujarati newspaper Rast Goftar, published from what was then Bombay, including parts of Gujarat.

He advocated for numerous social issues such as widow remarriage, female education, extravagant wedding expenditures, inappropriate marriage songs, and the cultural practice of chest beating at funerals. He vehemently supported the oppressed and called for social reform, leading to the abolition of many societal evils, much like his mentor who believed in purging society of its issues.

Mulji authored several impactful articles, with one notable piece titled 'Gulamikhat', where he criticized the sign campaign and law-making processes that exempted the Maharaj (religious leaders) from court appearances due to their religious status.

However, the most significant article he penned was 'Hinduo No Asli Dharam Ane Atyar Na Pakhandi Mato' (The Primitive Religion of the Hindus and the Present Heterodox Opinions), published on September 21, 1890, in 'Satyaprakash'. This article criticized the behavior of Vaishnava Archaryas (Hindu religious leaders) and sparked the Maharaj Libel Case in 1862, which is the basis for the Netflix film.

On the professional front, Junaid Khan is also set to star alongside Sai Pallavi in an upcoming film.
