Bengaluru, Jan 1 (NationPress) Kannada actor Dr Shivarajkumar, the son of renowned film icon Dr Rajkumar, posted a heartfelt video from the US on the first day of 2025, where he discussed his inspiring journey to overcoming cancer and assured his fans about his comeback.

In the video, Shivarajkumar expressed his New Year greetings to everyone, stating, “I find it difficult to speak as I might get emotional right now. Leaving Karnataka has been a deeply emotional experience for me. In such circumstances, feeling anxious is natural, but the incredible support from my fans has greatly alleviated that fear.”

He added, “The way the medical team attended to me instilled a lot of courage in me. While filming for the movie ‘45’, I went through chemotherapy and even completed the climax fight scene. As the time to travel to the US for treatment drew near, anxiety set in. Nevertheless, my wife Geetha and daughter Nivedita were my pillars of strength throughout this ordeal.”

“Dr Manohar, who was in charge of my treatment, treated me with utmost care, almost like a child. I have had my urinary bladder replaced, but there’s no cause for alarm. I am recovering well and will return with twice the energy. I am thankful to all my fans for their constant support,” Shivarajkumar reassured.

Geetha Shivarajkumar, who appeared alongside him in the video, mentioned that all medical reports returned negative, officially confirming that Shivarajkumar is cancer-free. “His recovery is a testament to the blessings from his fans, and I will always cherish this,” she emphasized.

The actor underwent surgery at a hospital in Miami, US, where the cancerous bladder was excised. According to the surgeon, Dr Murugesh Manoharan, an artificial bladder was constructed using Shivarajkumar’s intestine.

In November, Shivarajkumar had publicly addressed his health condition, acknowledging his humanity. Although he didn’t initially disclose it was cancer, he stated, “At the end of the day, I am just a human being. I am dealing with a health issue and am currently receiving treatment. I have completed a couple of treatment sessions, with a few more to follow. After that, I will undergo surgery, either in India or the US.”
