Chennai, Feb 22 (NationPress) National Award-winning music director G V Prakash, who plays the lead role in India’s inaugural sea horror adventure, 'Kingston', reveals that a specialized team from Mumbai provided underwater swimming training to the entire cast.
The narrative centers on the character Kingston, portrayed by G V Prakash, who embarks on a journey into a cursed sea.
When queried about the training required for filming in the ocean and whether the actors had swimming skills, G V Prakash shared, “I was already proficient in swimming, but underwater swimming necessitates specific training. We executed numerous underwater scenes, thus we enlisted a specialized unit from Mumbai to coach the cast in underwater swimming techniques. They instructed us on how to hold our breath for three minutes underwater, as the film involves sequences where we must remain submerged and perform.”
The actor further mentioned that the team underwent five underwater swimming classes to build their confidence.
This project holds particular significance for G V Prakash as he not only composes the music and stars in the film but is also one of its producers.
“We have allocated four times our usual budget for a film,” states G V Prakash, who notes that this fantasy adventure has the potential to evolve into a franchise. The decision for sequels will depend on the audience's reception of this film, according to the actor-music director-producer.
The teaser has generated immense anticipation for the film, which is set to premiere on March 7 this year.
Directed by first-time filmmaker Kamal Prakash, the film boasts a talented cast including Divya Bharathi, Azhagam Perumal, ‘Merku Thodarchi Malai’ fame Antony, Chetan, Kumaravel, Sabumon, and several others.
The cinematography is executed by Gokul Benoy, with dialogues crafted by Dhivek. Editing is overseen by San Lokesh. Significant technical contributions come from S.S. Moorthy in the art department and Dhilip Subbarayan in the stunts.
This sea fantasy adventure film, set against a stunning coastal backdrop, is produced on a lavish budget by Zee Studios alongside Parallel Universe Pictures, which is G V Prakash’s personal production house.
Dinesh Guna serves as the creative producer for this film, which has successfully completed its shooting phase. Currently, the post-production process is advancing smoothly.
