Patna, Feb 22 (NationPress) Amid increasing speculation regarding the political ambitions of Nishant Kumar, the son of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Union MSME Minister and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) leader Jitan Ram Manjhi voiced his support on Saturday.

On the social media platform X, Manjhi championed Nishant’s potential entry into politics, stating: "If the son of an IAS officer becomes an IAS, he is deemed competent. If an engineer's son follows in his footsteps, he is seen as promising. However, when a leader's son steps into politics, numerous questions arise. This is unjust. Nishant, the son of Bihar’s CM Nitish Kumar, is welcomed in politics. HAM stands with Nishant."

Manjhi’s endorsement represents a growing acceptance of Nishant’s potential political debut. His support implies that NDA partners may not resist Nishant's entry.

Unlike his father, Nishant Kumar has kept a low public profile and distanced himself from active politics – his involvement could alter the internal dynamics of JD(U).

As RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav continuously questions Nitish Kumar's health, dubbing him a fatigued Chief Minister relying on retired officials, speculation rises about Nishant entering the political arena in Bihar.

Yadav also likened Kumar to an obsolete vehicle, arguing that just as cars over 15 years old are prohibited from the roads for pollution reasons, after two decades in power, Kumar has become ineffective.

In response, Nishant Kumar stated that his father is "100 percent fit" and urged the citizens of Bihar to back him for re-election as Chief Minister in the 2025 Assembly elections.

He emphasized the welfare initiatives and advancements achieved under Nitish Kumar's leadership since 2005.

Speculation regarding Nishant's political entry intensified following his presence at a public event in Bakhtiyarpur on January 17, where he sought support for his father's leadership.

While some political figures, including former MP Anand Mohan, have embraced the idea of Nishant entering politics to uphold his father's legacy, others highlight a potential contradiction, recalling Nitish Kumar's past criticisms of dynastic politics.
