Mumbai, Feb 22 (NationPress) Singer-songwriter Raja Kumari, renowned for tracks like City Clums and Jawan Title Track, has unveiled her latest album Kashi to Kailash. She labels this work as a profoundly personal and spiritual endeavor, drawing inspiration from Lord Shiva. Raja disclosed that it was Bholenath who guided her towards spirituality.

Reflecting on her spiritual journey, she shared, “This album is something I felt compelled to create. Significant events in my life, such as the cancellation of my tour two years back, pushed me towards spirituality. Following that, I experienced visions of Kedarnath Temple, prompting me to visit the shrine. When I stood before Lord Shiva, I inquired about my next steps, and the answer was unmistakable—surrender. From that moment, I knew this was the first project I needed to undertake.”

Released in conjunction with Maha Shivratri, the album embodies her journey of faith, devotion, and transformation. Her classical foundations significantly influence the album, particularly in the track The Destroyer.

Raja also stated, “I have always cherished Shiv Tandav as a dance since childhood. Portraying Shiva, embodying both destruction and creation has always resonated with me. I integrated the jati from my childhood compositions to pay tribute to my years of training.”

She emphasized the importance of accurately pronouncing Sanskrit verses, believing that “there’s a different energy when the words are articulated correctly.”

For Raja Kumari, Maha Shivratri now holds a profound significance.

“I dedicate the night to meditation, absorbing the high-frequency energies of this sacred period. As a hopeless romantic, I draw inspiration from the love story of Shiva and Parvati, which motivated me to observe the Sola Somvaar Vrat. I aspire for this album to be part of people's celebrations,” she added.
