Kochi, Feb 22 (NationPress) Kerala Industries Minister P. Rajeeve announced on Saturday that the state has attracted commitments totaling Rs 1,50,905 crores from 374 companies during the prominent Invest Kerala Global Summit 2025.
“These investments will not materialize immediately but will unfold over the coming years. The Kerala government will establish a Task Force to evaluate all submitted proposals and strategize on moving forward,” stated the minister.
Previously, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan met with leading IT firms, resulting in 24 companies committing to invest Rs 8,500 crores and generating approximately 16,000 new jobs.
Notably, the two-day Invest Kerala Global Summit 2025 also saw significant participation from the opposition's Congress-led UDF.
Congress leader Chandy Oommen expressed that they have always aimed for Kerala’s prosperity and will continue to support its growth.
On Friday, Karan Adani, Managing Director of Adani Ports & SEZ Ltd., revealed a substantial investment of Rs 30,000 crore in Kerala over the next five years, enhancing the state's infrastructure and economic development.
“The Adani group has already invested Rs 5,000 crore in Vizhinjam and is pledging an additional Rs 20,000 crore. This initiative aims to establish not only India’s first trans-shipment hub but also to transform Vizhinjam into the region’s largest transhipment port. We plan to expand Trivandrum International Airport from 4.5M to 12M passengers with an investment of Rs 5,500 crore. Additionally, we will develop a Logistics and E-Commerce hub in Cochin and enhance our cement production capacity in Cochin,” Karan Adani stated.
