Mumbai, March 16 (NationPress) As the Oscar and Grammy-winning music composer A. R. Rahman continues his recovery following reports of discomfort, his wife Saira Rahman has called for privacy and has requested that she not be referred to as his “ex-wife”.

On Sunday, Saira conveyed her feelings through a voice note, beginning her message with a ‘Salam’ during the holy month of Ramadan. She expressed, “Assalamualaikum. I wish him a swift recovery. I heard he experienced chest pain and underwent angiography, but by the grace of Allah, he is fine now; he has nothing serious.”

The music composer was diagnosed with dehydration after returning from London, where he reported feeling unwell.

Furthermore, Saira stated, “I want to clarify to everyone that we are not officially divorced; we are still husband and wife. We are just separated because I have not been well for the past two years, and I didn’t want to add to his stress. Please do not refer to me as his ‘ex-wife’. We are separated, but my prayers are always with him. I kindly ask everyone, particularly his family, to avoid stressing him and to take care of him. Thank you, Allah Hafiz.”

Previously, Rahman was hospitalized in Chennai on Saturday evening due to dehydration, according to doctors on Sunday. The Oscar-winning music director returned from London the night before when he began to feel ill and sought medical attention.
