Mumbai, Feb 22 (NationPress) Renowned star Yash has officially commenced filming for Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’, portraying the character of Ravana.

The film directed by Tiwari is currently being filmed in India. Actor Ranbir Kapoor will depict Lord Rama, while actress Sai Pallavi will take on the role of Goddess Sita. Ranbir and Pallavi have already completed some scenes in Mumbai, and now Yash, who also serves as a producer for the project, has begun his shooting in the city.

Recent updates reveal that Yash arrived in Mumbai and has started filming for ‘Ramayana - Part 1’ as of February 21, following two days dedicated to costume fittings.

The filming will emphasize intricate war sequences, with parts of these pivotal scenes being shot at Aksa Beach in Mumbai.

According to sources, the production team plans to relocate to a studio in Dahisar for additional filming.

Sources stated: "The war segments are being crafted on a grand scale, showcasing Ravana’s tactical brilliance. It will incorporate both green screen technology and on-site filming, with significant VFX integration.

“This specific segment doesn't necessitate Ranbir’s presence as it doesn’t involve the iconic Ram-Ravana showdown. Other prominent actors will accompany Yash for this phase of filming.”

Yash will be adorned in outfits crafted from real gold, designed by Harpreet and Rimple.

A source close to IANS disclosed costume details last year, revealing that the attire for Yash is made of actual gold.

According to mythology, the demon king's realm was referred to as ‘the Golden City of Lanka’.

The source informed IANS: “Real gold is being utilized because Ravana ruled over Sri Lanka, a region known for its golden heritage at that time. Therefore, all his garments are being created using genuine gold.”

Ramayana” is set to be released in two segments. The first part is scheduled for Diwali 2026, while the sequel will premiere on Diwali 2027.

Other cast members of Ramayana include Lara Dutta, Sunny Deol, and Indira Krishna.
