Mahakumbh Nagar, Jan 27 (NationPress) Numerous pilgrims are reaping the benefits from the newly inaugurated 'Jan Aushadhi Kendras' at the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj.
With lakhs of devotees flocking to this sacred city daily, they now have access to essential medications at significantly lower prices.
These Jan Aushadhi centers are aiding hundreds of pilgrims regularly.
The Central government has established at least five Jan Aushadhi Kendras within the Kumbh mela grounds, operational from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
A key center has been positioned at Namami Gange Camp behind Kalagram, with additional centers located at Sector-7 Ganga Ghat, Sector-23 Arail Ghat, Sector-14 Pipa Pul, and Sector-4.
Several pilgrims shared their experiences with IANS regarding the concessions available to them in the holy city.
Dinesh Tiwari, who traveled from Bahraich, expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the establishment of the Jan Aushadhi Centre at the Kumbh mela site.
"I experienced leg pain, and I was able to obtain medications at a reduced price here. Medicines are available for just Rs 10. The Centre is doing commendable work under PM Modi, providing housing, sanitation, electricity, and water for the underprivileged," he stated.
Sonu Chauhan, arriving from Jhansi, also thanked PM Modi and remarked: "Affordable medicines are accessible here. Many benefits are being enjoyed from this center."
Jugal Kishore Mishra noted the significance of having Jan Aushadhi Kendras at such a major event.
"People travel from far and wide, and previously there were no treatment facilities. However, thanks to the presence of Jan Aushadhi Kendra, affordable medications are now available," he added.
Purushottam Tripathi, director of Jan Aushadhi Kendra, mentioned that many devotees are reaping substantial benefits from this center, fulfilling its intended purpose.
"Every day, two to three thousand devotees visit here to purchase medications. The majority ask for pain relief medicines," he revealed.
