Patna, Jan 5 (NationPress) The health status of Prashant Kishor, the mastermind behind the Jan Suraj Abhiyan, remains stable. He has been undertaking a hunger strike for over 48 hours in support of students protesting alleged discrepancies in the 70th Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) Preliminary examination.
While his extended fast has raised concerns about his well-being, a team of doctors led by physician Avinash Kumar from Patna has reassured the public that Kishor’s health is stable, with only mild symptoms of bronchitis and dehydration.
After a comprehensive examination, Avinash Kumar informed the media that Kishor is suffering from mild dehydration and has been advised to consume two to three litres of water daily.
Furthermore, the medical team has recommended additional precautions to avoid any health issues due to the ongoing cold weather.
"Kishor is also facing mild dehydration and a slight sore throat, for which we have suggested regular gargling. Despite these minor issues, Kishor's overall health is stable at this time," Avinash Kumar stated.
Kishor's hunger strike is part of a larger campaign to shed light on and demand solutions for the alleged irregularities in the 70th BPSC Preliminary Examination, a matter that has triggered widespread protests throughout Bihar.
The protests by BPSC candidates regarding supposed paper leaks and irregularities in the 70th BPSC Preliminary Examination have now reached their 18th day, with no resolution in sight.
This prolonged demonstration has attracted attention from various groups, especially after Prashant Kishor, the Chief of the Jan Suraj Party, joined the movement in a show of solidarity, further increasing its visibility and momentum.
Kishor has been continuing his hunger strike at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, enduring the severe cold and harsh conditions.
The students are calling for the cancellation of the 70th BPSC Preliminary Examination, claiming that the irregularities and paper leaks were not confined to a single examination center but occurred in multiple locations.
Meanwhile, the BPSC conducted a re-examination at 22 locations on Saturday, which concluded without any incidents.
