Bhubaneswar, Feb 3 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, has approved a financial aid of Rs 5 lakhs for the medical treatment of a young girl diagnosed with Xeroderma, an uncommon skin condition.

The funds will be disbursed from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to assist Pratyusha Giri, a seven-year-old resident of Boudh district.

According to reports from the Chief Minister’s Office, Pratyusha’s father, Heramb Giri, had previously approached the CM’s Grievance Cell with his daughter on December 30, 2024.

After assessing the severity of her condition, CM Majhi arranged for her treatment at the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar, and subsequently at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

On Monday, Heramb returned to the Grievance Cell seeking further assistance for his daughter’s ongoing treatment. Understanding the plight of the minor and the desperation of her family, the Chief Minister granted Rs 5 lakh from the CMRF using the Single Window System.

Furthermore, CM Majhi instructed officials to ensure that the family of the girl receives a house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Expressing gratitude for the support, Heramb conveyed to the media his everlasting appreciation for the Chief Minister's help.

In another instance, CM Majhi facilitated the treatment for a 16-year-old boy, Alok Kalshe, from Balangir district, who is physically challenged and unable to sit or move.

Upon observing the struggles faced by Alok and his father, CM Majhi promptly arranged for his transport to the Capital Hospital in an ambulance for necessary medical care, also ensuring financial support for Alok's advanced treatment.

CM Majhi also attended to numerous other individuals who visited the Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell on Monday, seeking help and resolution of their issues.

While speaking to the media, CM Majhi remarked, “The grievance redressal initiative has successfully delivered justice to the citizens. Out of the total grievances received since the inception of this program on July 1 of last year, approximately 81 percent have been addressed.”

Official statistics indicate that a total of 8031 grievance applications were submitted during seven grievance redressal sessions conducted since July last year, with 6545 grievances successfully resolved.

Moreover, 1000 applications were submitted for the eighth grievance redressal session that took place on Monday.
