New Delhi, Dec 6 (NationPress) The inhabitants of the border district of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) are enjoying the advantages of the Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya JanAushadhi Pariyojana (PM-BJP).

The Jan Aushadhi Kendras established under this initiative have played a crucial role in enabling individuals to save on medications and essential drugs throughout the nation.

Poonch, J&K, is no exception. The Jan Aushadhi Kendra situated at the Raja Sukhdev Singh District Hospital has become a popular destination for both admitted and visiting patients, all of whom flock to this center to purchase affordable medicines.

The Raja Sukhdev Singh District Hospital is a well-known medical facility in Poonch, recognized for its comprehensive range of treatments. The addition of the Jan Aushadhi Kendra provides patients with the convenience of accessing medicines at remarkably low prices.

Residents are expressing their gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government's efforts to extend this transformative scheme to their area.

Dr. Nusrat Ul Nisa, the Medical Superintendent of Raja Sukhdev Singh District Hospital, mentioned that the community greatly benefits from the Jan Aushadhi Kendras and appreciates the government's initiative.

She further stated to IANS: "We have advised all doctors to prescribe only the active ingredients of medicines and to guide patients towards the Jan Aushadhi Kendra for their pharmaceutical needs.

"A medicine that costs Rs 100 in the market is available here for just Rs 20. Thus, we recommend that patients first check the hospital's pharmacy for their medications. If unavailable, they should visit another Jan Aushadhi Kendra."

Shehzaad, a local resident who frequently purchases his medications from this center, expressed his gratitude to the PM Modi-led government.

"I purchased Pantop medicine from the hospital's Jan Aushadhi dispensary for only Rs 22, whereas it is priced at Rs 120 in private stores. These kendras are incredibly beneficial for low-income and middle-class families," he remarked.

As part of the PM-BJP initiative under the Modi administration, specialized outlets known as Jan Aushadhi Kendras have been launched to offer generic medicines at budget-friendly prices. As of September 2024, approximately 13,822 Jan Aushadhi Kendras are operational nationwide.
