Chengdu, Feb 8 (NationPress) Almost 200 individuals have been safely evacuated following a devastating landslide that buried 10 homes and left over 30 individuals unaccounted for in the southwestern region of China's Sichuan Province on Saturday.
The landslide struck at 11:50 am in Jinping Village, situated in Junlian County of Yibin City, as reported by local officials.
A Level I geological disaster emergency response, the highest level, was activated in the province at 3:30 pm on Saturday.
Rescue teams, including emergency response, fire services, public security, transportation, medical personnel, telecommunications, and electricity services, rapidly arrived to assist with the rescue operations.
According to Xinhua news agency, two individuals were rescued in the afternoon.
