The aircraft, operated by Jet Rescue Air Ambulance, was transporting four crew members, a pediatric patient who had recently completed treatment in Philadelphia, along with the patient's escort, as reported by Xinhua news agency.
This incident occurred merely two days following a horrific collision involving an American Airlines jet and a US Army Black Hawk helicopter over Washington, DC, resulting in 67 fatalities.
On the same day, another plane crash was reported in the nearby state of Pennsylvania, where a small aircraft also crashed in Philadelphia, igniting several homes.
Local news outlets indicated that this was a medical flight, carrying six individuals.
Numerous homes were ablaze in a neighborhood close to Roosevelt Boulevard and Cottman Avenue.
According to eyewitness reports shared on social media, an orange flash was visible near Roosevelt Mall, an outdoor shopping area located along Route 1, which traverses the city before reaching Bucks County. The shopping center is surrounded by residences.
The news outlet cited emergency services dispatches indicating that the aircraft crashed near the 7200 block of Calvert Street, a residential area, shortly after 6 p.m. on Friday.
