Washington, Dec 30 (NationPress) US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former President Jimmy Carter, referring to him as an extraordinary leader, statesman, and humanitarian following the death of the nation's 39th Commander-in-Chief on Sunday.
In a statement from the White House, the Bidens stated, "With his compassion and moral clarity, he dedicated himself to fighting disease, establishing peace, promoting civil rights and human rights, advocating for fair elections, assisting the homeless, and consistently representing the interests of the most vulnerable members of society. He transformed, uplifted, and positively impacted countless lives worldwide."
The Bidens highlighted Carter's unwavering dedication to peace, civil rights, and humanitarian initiatives, acknowledging his worldwide influence and his enduring legacy of empathy and moral integrity.
Biden also announced that a formal state funeral for Carter would take place in Washington D.C.

In their message, Joe and Jill Biden emphasized that Jimmy Carter's life exemplifies what it means to lead a life filled with purpose and significance.
They remarked that Carter "demonstrated that our nation is great because we are good people -- decent and honorable, brave and compassionate, humble and strong."
The White House's statement emphasized that an official state funeral will be hosted in Washington D.C. for James Earl Carter Jr, "who devoted his entire life to serving God and his country."
James Earl Carter Jr, who holds the record as the longest-serving US President, died at 100 years old on Sunday (US local time) at his residence in Plains, Georgia, as reported by the media, citing his son James E. Carter III.
