Mumbai, Feb 5 (NationPress) After nearly two months of hospitalization, filmmaker Subhash Ghai is back at the gym, feeling more energized than ever.

He shared a video on Instagram, showcasing himself engaged in a rowing workout. Clad in a white T-shirt and sweatpants, he exercises with a joyful expression.

“Back to workout to work with double energies. Thank you all for your love,” Subhash captioned the post.

In December, Subhash Ghai was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Bandra after experiencing speech difficulties and memory issues.

An official statement from the hospital revealed that he arrived at the emergency unit with complaints of speaking challenges and confusion that had persisted for a day.

“His medical history included ischemic heart disease (s/p AVR 2009, CABG in 2011, and pacemaker insertion in 2011) and newly diagnosed hypothyroidism. He was placed in the ICU under the supervision of Dr. Rohit Deshpande,” the statement noted.

Further investigations included a CT angiogram of the brain, chest, and abdomen, along with baseline blood tests, which were satisfactory for his age.

“An ultrasound of the neck indicated signs of thyroiditis, necessitating additional examination. A transrectal ultrasound of the prostate revealed a heterogeneous hypoechoic lesion in the left lobe of the prostate, with a serum prostate-specific antigen (PSA) level exceeding 100.”

The 79-year-old began his journey in Bollywood as an actor, featuring in minor roles in films such as ‘Taqdeer’ and ‘Aaradhna’. He later took on leading roles in movies like ‘Umang’ and ‘Gumrah’, but did not achieve significant success as an actor, prompting him to transition to directing.

His directorial debut was ‘Kalicharan’, starring Shatrughan Sinha, which turned out to be a huge success and solidified his status as a director.

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Subhash Ghai delivered numerous blockbuster films, collaborating successfully with Dilip Kumar in titles such as ‘Vidhaata’, ‘Karma’, and ‘Saudaagar’.
