Melbourne, Feb 5 (NationPress) The Melbourne Renegades have strengthened their fast-bowling lineup ahead of BBL season 15 by signing Brendan Doggett on a two-year contract.

Doggett, who has previously represented the Adelaide Strikers, Sydney Thunder, and Brisbane Heat, brings valuable T20 experience along with recent success in traditional formats. He marks the club's second free agent acquisition following Jason Behrendorff's arrival during the Big Bash's inaugural Player Movement Window.

"I'm incredibly excited about this opportunity and can't wait to wear the red and play in front of a full crowd at Marvel Stadium. The squad the Gades are assembling is impressive, especially the bowling lineup, and I'm thrilled to be part of it," Doggett stated in a press release on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old has participated in 48 Big Bash matches over eight seasons, taking 43 wickets with a commendable economy rate of 8.33 and achieving best figures of 5/35.

With Behrendorff, Tom Rogers, Fergus O'Neill, and Will Sutherland already in the Renegades' pace attack, Doggett's addition further enhances an already formidable bowling lineup.

The 33-year-old has dedicated eight years to the Renegades and is the club's top men's wicket-taker with 104 in 80 matches, although injury issues over the last two seasons have caused him to miss six of their 20 games.

"Brendan is an electrifying addition to our team; he's a talented fast bowler capable of performing under pressure and securing crucial wickets. We expect Brendan to be significant for us. Pairing him with Tom Rogers, Jason Behrendorff, Adam Zampa, and Will Sutherland gives us a formidable bowling unit that showcases variety and top-tier talent," commented James Rosengarten, general manager of the Melbourne Renegades.
