Agartala, April 28 (NationPress) On Monday, Tripura's Chief Minister Manik Saha stated that B.R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution and the first Law Minister of the nation, was instrumental in creating a socially equitable India.
While commemorating the 135th Birth Anniversary of B.R. Ambedkar at the Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan, the Chief Minister highlighted that the philosophies and principles of Ambedkar are evident in the endeavors of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Under PM Modi’s leadership, the underprivileged have been integrated into banking services to eliminate the influence of middlemen. The Mudra Yojana has been launched, benefiting tribal communities, scheduled castes, Dalits, and women. PM Modi is also dedicated to empowering women towards self-sufficiency,” he explained.
Saha emphasized that to realize the Prime Minister's vision, the Tripura government has initiated multiple programs for the backward classes, scheduled castes, Dalits, and others.
“We recently celebrated Ambedkar’s birth anniversary on April 14. He was the Law Minister in the first Union Cabinet and fought against hatred, malice, and discrimination. His efforts for the marginalized earned him the Bharat Ratna in 1990, a recognition that previous governments had withheld from him for years. He was pivotal in crafting the Indian Constitution,” the Chief Minister stated.
He remarked that Ambedkar aimed to secure fundamental rights and financial stability for all citizens, proposing several measures.
Saha also mentioned that Ambedkar aspired for a nation free from exploitation, advocating that everyone must contribute to national development. He pointed out that Ambedkar emphasized the advancement of industries and agriculture for the country and its states while tirelessly combating superstition.
“Thanks to his vision, we coexist harmoniously today. It is vital for future generations to learn about his legacy and contributions to our nation,” Saha added.
During the seminar, various dignitaries were present, including Rajib Bhattacharjee, state BJP President and Rajya Sabha member, Paschim Tripura Zilla Sabhadhipati Biswajit Shil, West Tripura District Magistrate Vishal Kumar, Scheduled Caste Welfare Department Director Jayanta Dey, and other notable figures.
