New Delhi, March 16 (NationPress) Tantrapeethadhishwar Aniket Shastri Maharaj from Trimbakeshwar has vehemently opposed the existence of Aurangzeb’s tomb in Maharashtra, calling for its swift removal.

He pointed out the cruelty of the Mughal emperor, especially in relation to Maratha king Sambhaji Maharaj, and insisted that the tomb is unsuitable for the state.

Shastri Maharaj stressed the violence and tyranny exhibited by Aurangzeb during his rule, particularly the dire circumstances faced by the Marathas and the harsh treatment of King Sambhaji Maharaj.

According to him, the memorial of such a tyrannical figure should not exist in Maharashtra.

Expressing his concerns, Shastri Maharaj stated, “I call upon the Maharashtra government to recognize that there is no justification for Aurangzeb’s tomb in Maharashtra. His grave should be dismantled without delay. He was a merciless ruler, destructive, and a source of societal unrest. He inflicted great pain on all Hindus.”

“He tormented our cherished Sambhaji Maharaj. Furthermore, Aurangzeb even murdered his own father and brother in a horrific manner. Such a violent person should not have a place in Maharashtra, and his tomb must be eradicated. To support this endeavor, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, and others stand with us, and we demand that the Maharashtra government act promptly,” he added.

He also mentioned that if action is not taken, all supporters of Hindutva, including followers of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Dharmveer Sambhaji Maharaj, would unite in protest.

Shastri Maharaj’s comments have sparked a significant discussion, eliciting strong reactions from various groups.

The push to remove Aurangzeb’s tomb is gaining traction, with multiple Hindu organizations, including Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad, backing the initiative.

The Maharashtra government has yet to respond to this demand.
